Some Cemetery Statue Photos

Halloween is this Thursday and today I am taking a break from my usual Tombstone Tuesday to instead post some of my favorite photos that I have taken of cemetery statues.

First, the beautiful Kuhl monument in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio. This couple is gazing at each other for all eternity.

Beautiful! I wonder if the Kuhl statues actually resemble the couple.

This lovely angel statue is only a few miles away in Kessler/Liberty Cemetery. There is one just like it at Riverside Cemetery, near Geneva, Indiana:

Greetings from the Chattanooga, Ohio, area. Yes, Ohio has its very own Chattanooga, aka Chatt, a small village in west-central Ohio, near the Indiana border. I have been doing family history research for over 20 years and am a Board-Certified genealogist, certified by the Board for Certification of Genealogists®. My main genealogical interests are family research, cemetery research, and historical and genealogical research of the Chatt area, with a focus on two area Lutheran Churches, both named Zion Lutheran, one in Chatt and the other in Schumm, Ohio.     You will have to check out the angel on the tombstone of Christine George in the North Grove Cemetery in Celina, OH. This is a newer stone and it has a really huge angel.

    When we visit relatives at the Kessler/Liberty Cemetery, I always visit the angel monument! Amazing find in rural Mercer County!
