We will never forget.
September 11th, 2001.
Nearly every one of us remember where we were and what we were doing 20 years ago when we heard the news that two planes flew into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, that a third plane crashed into the Pentagon, and that a fourth plane crashed into a field in rural Pennsylvania.
The images of those terrorist attacks are burned into our memories.
At 8:46 a.m. Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower.
At 9:02 a.m. Flight 175 crashed into the South Tower.
At 9:59 a.m. the South Tower collapsed.
At 10:48 a.m. the North Tower collapsed.
At 9:37 a.m. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon.
At 10:03 a.m. Flight 93 crashed in Somerset County, southeast of Pittsburgh.
Tomorrow, the 20th anniversary of September 11, we remember the nearly 3000 people who died that day, as a direct result of the attacks, and we remember and honor the police, firemen, and others who sacrificed their lives to help others that day and in the days that followed.
And, a never-ending thank you to the brave men and women who, after 9-11, voluntarily joined our armed forces to protect us from future attacks.
We must never forget.
We will never forget.
